Junior Golf

About the Program

The PGA Golf Professionals offer a Junior Golf Program designed to instill enthusiasm in our young players with instruction and events geared toward each individual level of ability -beginning as young as age five! Our mission is to create a fun, safe, and positive environment where your child can learn and grow in the game of golf. Junior Golf Tournaments include the Parent-Child Tournament, 36-Hole Junior Club Championship (age 13 and older), Junior Golf Member-Member Tournament, and the Junior Golf Invitational. We strive to provide consistent and thorough instruction that will arm the participants with sound fundamentals and etiquette, while exploring innovative ways to increase speed and proper technique through other non-golf activities. Due to the demand of low instructor-to-student ratios, Junior Golf will have a maximum of 24 participants in all age categories. It is recommended for parents to sign-up for Junior Golf as soon as possible to best guarantee preferred dates or clinic groups. We expect to reach full capacity in our clinics.

It is important for parents to communicate any expected absences at least 24 hours in advance so that we may better service other members whose children may be on the wait list.

The CHCC Teaching Philosophy

Within the program, time is divided between instruction and playing. Skills learned will range from basic fundamentals, etiquette, and rules, to overall golf knowledge and proficiency in certain skills. Our teaching strategy involves an evaluation of each player's current skill level prior to placing participants in groups. A ratio of 1:4 is implemented between Junior Golfers and staff to ensure safety, personal attention, and quality instruction for every participant. All of our lead instructors are current or past P.G.A. professionals and additional college-age facilitators will assist and supervise each group after instruction.
